Lou’s Brew

YEAST: Nottingham Lou’s Brew was designed and brewed specially for our very own Landlady, the inimitable Louise Treseder!
This is a light, hoppy golden beer with citrus and grassy aromas. Dangerously drinkable, Lou’s Brew is available all year round in bottles, and has a dedicated permanent line in The Driftwood Spars.

Alfie’s Revenge

Named after a stuffed red squirrel that used to live in the Driftwood Spars bar. Sadly, Alfie went walkabout a few years back and hasn’t been seen since; we hope he’s in good company wherever he is!
a strong, rich ale with a beautiful deep polished red colour. alfie’s has a big malt flavour, with chocolate and biscuit notes.
Food matches: Rich roasted and stewed meat dishes, game.
Bolsters Blood

Legend has it that a giant named Bolster once terrorised St Agnes. When he was finally slain, his blood was jet black. Yikes!
This is a rich, dark porter with strong roast flavours, packed with spicy and fruity hops.

Blue Hills

A perennial favourite, Blue Hills is named after the vintage car race ‘The Land’s End Trial’ which takes place on the ‘Bluehills’ behind the Driftwood Pub every Easter.
This is a deliciously moreish light session bitter with big hop flavour. Food Matches: Cheese Ploughmans
Spars
Golden Ale

Named after the Driftwood Spars pub, this is brewed in support of local charities. Each year 10p from every pint of Spars sold in the pub goes to our charity of the year.
Spars is a lightly hopped golden ale with a complex fruity and spicy aroma. Citrus fruit flavours give way to a pleasantly bitter finish. Food Matches: Roast chicken.
Cove Range
Crafted using the finest British ingredients, including new-wave English hops, these modern beers are brewed in small batches here in Trevaunance Cove, and complement our core range perfectly. Proceeds from each beer will go towards supporting our charity partner, Fathoms Free:
Fathoms Free is a Cornwall-based charity whose day-to-day mission involves dives from their fast-response specialist vessel to recover ghost fishing gear; abandoned nets, pots, angling equipment and other plastic causes severe damage to the marine environment and the death of countless seabirds, seals, dolphins and other sea life.

This light and bright pale ale is inspired by hazy summer days on St Agnes Beacon where, from a soft carpet of sea thrift, you can see 30 miles out to sea.
A well-balanced pale ale brimming with fresh, zesty tropical fruits. Hoppy yet easy drinking, this is a great session beer.

Stippy Stappy

Named after the much-loved row of cottages in St Agnes, which once housed the captains of ships berthed down at Trevaunance Cove. Grab a glass and transport yourself back to a time when British IPAs reigned supreme.
A hop-forward IPA popping with lush blackcurrant, passionfruit and citrus notes. We’ve combined New World UK hops with traditional British malts and the result is punchy!

Midnight Skinny Dipper

Seaberry

Sea buckthorn, or Seaberry, grows in abundance on the Cornish coast, revelling in the clean, salt-flecked air. This reinvention of a classic saison is brewed with berries from cultivator Cornish Seaberry.
Complex yet balanced, our Seaberry Saison layers juicy fresh citrus fruits with a hint of sour, a punch of pepper, and the untameable appeal of farmhouse yeast.
Food Matches: Spicy, coconut-based curries.

Blackhead’s Mild

Named after a local motorbike group who drink in the pub on a very regular basis. They are called the Blackheads due to their crash helmets. They're not ferocious, just very mild.
Blackheads is a traditional mild beer with smokey malt flavours and a peppery aftertaste.

Forest Blonde

Bawden Rocks

This summertime favourite is named after the group of rocks just beyond Trevaunance Cove.
Bawden Rocks is a golden, hoppy, clean-flavoured bitter.

Green Hop

JSB
Strong Bitter

JSB stands for Jester Special Bitter. Pete specifically wanted to showcase this hop in a special bitter,. Like all our hops Jester is British breed by Charles Faram, but emulates North American hops such as Cascade or Centennial.
A golden, strong, finely effervescent bitter. Luxuriously hopped, with a kick of grapefruit and dryness to the finish, all capped with a hint of lychee from the Jester hops.
Food Matches: Spicy food, mild cheese, roast vegetables.
Pudding Ale

Our annual small-batch brew of Pudding Ale marks the start of the festive season for us here at the pub and brewery. As well as drinking it we add it to everything we can in December – cakes, puddings, even sauces!
A strong, rich mahogany-coloured ale featuring dried fruit and cake malt flavours with a balancing spicy and citrus hop. Ideal for adding to rich fruit cakes and desserts.
Food Matches: Rich meaty dishes and desserts including festive food.
Pete’s Mild
Brewed every March to celebrate Pete’s birthday
This will be brewed ready to drink every March to celebrate Pete the Brewer's birthday. Pete was the driving force behind the brewery until his untimely death in January 2020. The recipe will be developed by Head Brewer Mike alongside Pete's friends and family. It will launch March 2021.
